Wynn Resorts, renowned as one of the world’s leading independent hotel developers, has unveiled plans for an extraordinary project in the United Arab Emirates. The company has confirmed the construction of a 1,000-room integrated resort on the man-made Al Marjan Island in Ras Al Khaimah, marking a significant multi-billion-dollar investment in the region.

This announcement has ignited tremendous excitement across the UAE’s hospitality and tourism sectors. If you’re eager to learn more about Wynn Resorts’ ambitious development in Ras Al Khaimah, here’s a comprehensive overview of the details released so far.

Latest Developments

Set to open in 2026, Wynn Resort Ras Al Khaimah has recently made significant progress in its construction journey. The company has secured an additional 70 acres of land on Al Marjan Island, bringing the total to 155 acres for future development.

CEO Craig S. Billings emphasized the importance of this acquisition, stating, “Our joint venture now not only owns the land for the resort but also over 70 acres for potential future developments on the island.”

Key Concerns:

  • Social Impact: 34% of respondents expressed concerns about the potential social effects, such as gambling addiction, that may accompany the introduction of a casino.
  • Cultural Integrity: 28% emphasized the importance of preserving local cultural values, advocating for development that respects traditional norms.

  • Economic Optimism: 56% of participants believe the project will significantly boost tourism revenue and create numerous employment opportunities.
  • Real Estate Impact: 60% anticipate a notable increase in local real estate prices, reflecting confidence in the economic ripple effects of the resort.

Despite the sensitive nature of introducing a casino in the UAE, 54% of respondents recognize its potential to attract new tourists and stimulate economic growth.

Leadership and Construction

Thomas Schoen has been appointed as President of Wynn Al Marjan Island, the new integrated resort scheduled to launch in Ras Al Khaimah in 2026. With over 30 years of experience in luxury hospitality, Schoen will oversee all operational aspects of the resort, including its 1,500 luxury rooms, suites, and villas, as well as a variety of dining, entertainment, and lifestyle offerings.

Wynn Resorts has also appointed two key contractors for the project. ALEC Engineering and Contracting LLC will manage the main construction, while Bauer International FZE will handle the piling and enabling works. The resort promises to feature nightly laser and light shows, adding to its allure.

CEO Craig Billings expressed his pride in the meticulous planning and design efforts, stating, “We’ve spent the past year carefully considering the unique location of Wynn Al Marjan Island. Our design will bring a legacy of rich, thoughtful development to a sun-soaked beachside resort that will captivate customers old and new.”

About Wynn Resort Ras Al Khaimah

Wynn Resorts Ras Al Khaimah is set to become the first integrated resort in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, blending Las Vegas luxury with the natural beauty of Marjan Island. The resort will feature over 1,000 rooms, world-class shopping, a cutting-edge convention center, a luxurious spa, and more than ten restaurants and lounges. Additionally, the development will include a wide range of entertainment options and the region’s first-ever casino.

Situated on a nearly 250,000 square meter plot, the resort will offer stunning views of the Arabian Gulf and pristine beaches, making it Wynn Resorts’ first international beach resort. The development is expected to be a significant contributor to the local economy, creating jobs, boosting tourism, and encouraging the growth of related industries.

The Resort’s Magnificence

As the largest project of its kind in Ras Al Khaimah’s growing hospitality sector, Wynn Resorts Ras Al Khaimah will be built to the highest sustainability standards. Although detailed renderings have yet to be released, the resort is expected to feature opulent suites, fine dining establishments, and thrilling entertainment, much like Wynn’s other properties in Las Vegas, Macau, and Boston Harbor.

Wynn Resort Ras Al Khaimah Location

Located on Marjan Island, a man-made archipelago extending 4.5 kilometers into the Arabian Gulf, the resort will be part of Ras Al Khaimah’s effort to become a premier tourist destination. Marjan Island, with its coral-shaped islands, offers a perfect setting for Wynn Resorts’ first beachside property.

Once completed, Marjan Island will boast 8,000 hotel keys across various categories, 12,000 residential units, and 600 holiday villas, all surrounded by 7.8 kilometers of pristine beaches.

Wynn Resorts’ Global Presence

Wynn Resorts, Limited, founded in 2002, is a publicly held corporation based in the United States. Known for its luxurious casinos and hotels, Wynn properties are renowned for their fine dining, thrilling nightlife, and award-winning spas. With properties in Las Vegas, Macau, and Boston Harbor, Wynn Resorts continues to set the standard for luxury hospitality worldwide.

As the Wynn Resort Ras Al Khaimah project progresses, more details will be revealed, but for now, it stands as a symbol of Ras Al Khaimah’s growing prominence on the global tourism map.
